The artist’s study of human traces in time and space is being transposed into the digital realm, while also questioning humanity’s immortality in a shrinking ecosystem. In search of human traces of eternity in the vicinity that would endure in the face of extinction, a virtual projection is erected – a frame within which the viewer can escape the transience of the present. Through simultaneous recordings, a symbiosis of digital simulations that respond to human movement can be initiated. The observer is placed in the role of creator. Will humanity’s ubiquitous traces eventually trigger the decline of life? Or will they become an eternal monument to human decadence? The project was originally developed in collaboration with partner Jure Sulič, but I now aim to continue it on my own in a strictly digital environment, incorporating additional digital environments that relate to the vanishing ecosystem and space. The project will be transferred from Unity to Unreal and enhanced with further imaginative spaces/rooms. The previous interactivity achieved through tracking visitors’ movements will now be achieved through mouse clicks and digital discovery of the 3D space via exploration without additional instructions.
