Dreaming of heaven is great – especially the moment of you stepping in and
hearing the phrase, “welcome to Heaven”. I know that I won’t be going
there since heaven turned into a hell during my life, and I gave into demons
so that they could violate my soul. But as an artist who was born and raised
in Georgia, – up until the age of 23, – Georgia, the country of which
religious structure still preserves its outdated archaic manner with the help
of its priests and their flock to influence the church followers. Such power
and effect points these “fanatic zombies”, if you will, into the direction of
Christian extremism which no longer represents anything Christian, and
the whole concept of religion only becomes a resemblance to opium for the
society.
At some point of my life I experienced a cliché religious influence but I was
freed from it by the help of a healthy mind. However, the Christian
orthodox, eclectic points of view still linger in the deep parts of my brain;
the shreds of my past experiences always remain in a strange mix with
agnosticism and West-European religious heritage. Not too far from this
mix, there is a fading course with no orientation, slowly flowing as the
background consists of general tendencies and events. All these make up a
humongous surreal simulacrum which pushes me to create a comfort zone
for myself. The zone which is full of priority mannerisms, objects, pseudo
icons, people, – my own art. Heaven is here today, – and I am always
welcome as are you to peek in – welcome to Heaven…
