I have an MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London and currently live and work between Athens, Greece and London, UK. Originally from Cyprus being bilingual and having lived between four countries, my work looks at the difference between language and land-gauge.
Looking at Concrete Poetry, linguistics, language and syntax, I make imaginary maps that can be partly read through a key (drawing). Looking at the syntax within maps, I create drawings that break the grid by considering the off-pattern of maps and language and therefore exist as made-up maps and languages, thus creating imaginary geographies.
From these maps I then create room-scale clay floor-drawings.
