proposal from Marianne Villière, born in 1989, living and working in France. I am multidisciplinary – “transmedia” performative artist.
I am proposing a mapping of the visual interaction that I experiment during dailylife: and mostly through computer. It is about a subjective and mental map of attention. The different perspectives that are involeved with that mapping are represented by strings.
Like a spider, I would considere my static attention to the environment and to observe how it is attached to people or things.
This representation is an echo on different tools used in psychology (but I have to xtend my research about that topic).
Aslo, we can see some formal relations with our representation to alogithms.
This subvertion of conventional cartographic representations goes through our split attention. I would like to make visible the relation between physicality (body) and informations that are perceived (mainly visuals input).
Interaction is dealing with technology _ even a real interaction have sometimes to fight againt this «virtual interaction» (via the technologies). I would like to show through this experience how technologies and virtuality integrate our close environment and space perception.
I would like to write also in parallel about this research (I mean to narrate the process and my observations). I really don’t know how the shape of this artwork will make visible the technification of the natural but I would like to make it «real». This mapping is more about attention than space but it shows a relation between them. I would like to show that this virtual or even imaginary world is taking/giving space.
I would like to creat a web who explore the connexions between phisical places and given attentions. So, I studied that attention is politic : a sharing of what is relevant to us, an energy or time that we put on somebody/something or in a certain place. So I am very curious about what can be observe after this observation of this «physical attention».
I wish this artwork can offer some visibility of a contemporary subjectivity regarding its political/ethical/social implications of these representations.
One of my references is the book «Images de pensées» from Marie Aude Caraès ; also the work of Julien Prévieux about algorithm with the police ; also facial recognition tool – design ; and the art craft ‘fil tendu’ which is a popular technic (that I explored in the Dead end street Map of Istanbul, 2020)
