For several years, in my artistic work I have been dealing with the problem of memory, documenting the past and present, and looking for maps that make up our life and time. Widely understood art glass is the basic medium I work with. With the help of this material I created a project- documentation of maps of my cuts which are inevitable while working with glass. I also created glass maps of migraine pain that has accompanied me for years, or I was inspired by body maps that were created during various medical examinations carried out on me. All these very personal experiences directed my further thinking about art, which for me is a kind of memory, a record, a story about what is dear to us.
My newest project called “Souvenirs” has a very strong relationship with my place on earth. Between the embedded glasses I have closed numerous mementoes of the place with which I have been associated since birth. All maps, documents and manuscripts closed in glass are processed original documents related to my immediate surroundings. In the glass I closed the memory of the place, its past and the changes that were inevitable. The glasses are small, but as a whole they form a kind of installation on a black surface, encouraging the viewer to pick them up, look at them from different sides and put them back in place. In this way, I share what is important and personal to me, and at the same time keep the memory of people and places far away in time.
