Expressive Residue is the attempt to curate and assemble the waste, traces, rests that accumulated during my artistic practice. The project playfully investigates notions of 'main work' and 'by-product' through an inverted perspective. At the example of 3D-printing, it collects, sorts, and displays what usually gets thrown away and investigates the expressivity of PLA residuals like brims, support structures, failed prints, trash.
Started in 2020, Expressive Residue is an ongoing collection of residual objects.
The three objects are, in order from left to right:
'failed square 03' PLA plastic, 11x11cm (2020)
'support 03' (2020) PLA plastic, 6x6cm
'failed square 01' PLA plastic, 11x11cm (2020)
