I started this work around my experience with traveling. Since I came to France, I moved a lot between Korea, France and surrounding countries like Japan and Germany. From Tours to Annecy, Annecy to Lyon.
I focus on the notion of geographical displacement or more precisely how displacement be- comes territorial.
I leave both observations of my daily journeys and historical events related to the places that I meet. They touch on the issue of memory, history, space, time and vanity.
From an urban route, I make a subjective mapping ( In Chinese ink, oil pastel ballpoint pens acrylic ) then I make cardboard models of the buildings taken from this cartography.
This work deals with the specialization of memory and its dreamy fragility.
These drawings that represent places and buildings where I spent moments of my life.
To bring this memorial geography to life, I used the shape of the map to represent cities, the way I used this form is also to understand our position in the world and to understand the world around us.
These places are in my trajectory and personal memory in the history events of society.
I have always been interested in integrating my story and adapting it to the big history of society.
And how do we build history.
