I am looking forward to creating a new body of work using the darkroom. Up to this point in my career I have been limited in the scale that I can make my prints. This limit has come from a prohibitive cost of trays and materials and and size of my studio and darkroom. Most of my photo based work has been very colorful with the exception of a series of cyanotypes, I would be interested in focusing my work and bring it back around to black and white so I can focus my work on tone and pattern. The focus of my time during the residency would be to create a unique body of work using the darkroom to make photogram prints. This prints are unique and don’t use lenses or require enlargers, though often use enlargers to project light. It truly is a rare opportunity that I would have continued access to a space like this. This body of work would ideally would be narrowed down to 15-20 images I mount these images on 3/4 inch wood and float them off the wall. These would then be prepared so I could exhibit these works.
